As Raytheon Australia continues to navigate a dynamic business environment, we are seeking an experienced senior in-house legal counsel to join our legal team. This is an opportunity to directly impact the organisation’s success by supporting business initiatives and mitigating risk through the delivery of professional legal services and support.
As a senior legal counsel at Raytheon, you will be a trusted advisor to key internal clients providing expert legal guidance on a wide range of matters. You will lead legal initiatives and develop frameworks for the effective delivery of legal services to the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to senior leaders and business units on a broad range of subject areas including employment law, EHS, corporate governance, commercial property, contracts, disputes, and intellectual property.
- Lead and manage complex legal matters, ensuring the company’s interests are protected.
- Teaming with internal stakeholders in Australia and overseas to support business objectives by providing legal training, improving processes, sharing knowledge, and ensuring legal compliance.
- Managing legal compliance and effectively implementing compliance programs and frameworks.
- Maintaining corporate records and assisting with the preparation, maintenance, and filing of corporate documents.
- Engaging outside legal counsel where required.
- Supporting the General Counsel in the development and execution of the functional strategy.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- A Degree in Law and current Practising Certificate in an Australian State or Territory.
- Minimum of 8+ years post qualification experience, including private and in-house practice.
- Strong expertise and experience in legal subject areas generally needed to support large commercial entities.
- Expertise and experience in government contracting, privacy, commercial real estate, health and safety, and employment law is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead legal initiatives and provide business-focused advice to management.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise multiple tasks, and manage competing deadlines.
- Post-admission experience as a lawyer in-house legal role.
