Overview

Manage month end close, revenue recognition, financial analysis, reconciliations, and special projects that help to ensure accurate and timely reporting to management. Ensure timely collection of receivables.

Responsibilities
  • Manage, mentor and develop Hong Kong Revenue Accounting team.
  • Lead team responses to internal and external audit requests.
  • Lead team to ensure accurate revenue recognition and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Manage team to ensure adherence to internal controls related to revenue and accounts receivable.
  • Manage and coordinate semi-monthly revenue closing and ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Proactively initiate and lead regular discussions and meetings with sales marketing department on collection of outstanding receivables.
  • Manage new station start up by developing accounting procedures and training local employees.
  • Manage revenue accounting process and procedures related to warehouse facilities.
  • Recommend and lead implementation of improvement processes to streamline accounting functions.
  • Ability to create SOX narrative for a new process, as well as review and update SOX controls to ensure alignment to current practice.
  • Demonstrate continually deepening understanding of all Atlas, Polar and affiliate revenue sources along with other drivers of Receivables.
  • Presentations to all level of management.
  • Accurately and efficiently review and approve invoices, cash receipt applications, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Deliver accurate, thorough, well-presented, and actionable ad-hoc analyses under restrictive time constraints.
  • Contribute to development and implementation of new and/or upgraded financial systems.
  • Support Sales and Marketing with supporting information related to customer accounts and revenue analysis when requested.
  • Perform or review Bad Debt analysis on a monthly basis.
  • Analyze customer credit risk at least quarterly.
  • Implement new accounting standards with respect to revenue and receivables.
  • Assist with and support business resiliency initiatives
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline
  • 12-15 years of experience in Accounting in roles of progressively greater responsibility
  • Experience in supervisory level positions, preferred.
  • Prior working experience in Aviation or Logistics industry is a plus
  • Strong revenue accounting knowledge, experience in using CargoSpot, JDE, and Blackline will be advantages
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese

Skills:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (emphasis on presentation, accuracy, speed, and creativity)
  • Can-do creative approach to independent research and problem solving
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes –Oxley, particularly Section 404
  • Must be able to demonstrate professionalism in communicating with various departments within the company
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, detailed oriented and able to work under pressure and meet challenges in a proactive manner
  • Team player is a must
