Summary The Division Quality Program Manager role will own Division-wide initiatives focused on driving the Cost of Poor Quality to zero. Rather than taking a site-by-site approach the role will seek to leverage the scale of Metals Group in implementing administrative and technological solutions to eliminate poor quality and drive towards fully capable processes and fully conforming products at every facility. Essential Functions Oversee the implementation of the Zero Defects strategic plan to promote cultural change within the organization, including the consideration of Human Factors Co-ordinate Zero Defects training and awareness at all facilities, including the provision of external training and the delivery of internal programs Develop Division-wide metrics to determine priorities with respect to the elimination of customer escapes and the implementation of a Zero Defects culture Establish, oversee and own Division-wide Quality initiatives, to include: - Product Marking / Verification automation
- Visual Inspection automation
- Dimensional Inspection automation
- Order Entry / technical edit workflow streamlining and automation
Ownership of Capital strategy in relation to automation initiatives that support the goal of Quality Escape elimination Support OEM Supplier Maturity Assessments and facilitate best practice sharing in respect of these activities Develop and provide standard tools to sites for Quality reporting, including Schedule 1d, Cost of Poor Quality and Quality Planning templates, through the use of the PCC Portal and data analytics software Support preparation of Schedule 1d for MORs including Division roll-up, site run throughs and General Manager coaching Collaborate with the Metals Group Quality and Engineering organizations to ensure read across and alignment of Zero Escapes and Zero Defects initiatives Ownership of APQP deployment across all facilities in support of New Product Introduction initiatives in line with business growth objectives Manage the development of an integrated Quality Management System Software platform for all Metals Group sites, in cooperation with Division IT Participate in Metals Group Best Practice Committees Travel up to 60 Qualifications Competencies Assertive personality with strong organizational skills and the ability to influence senior leadership teams using persuasive arguments based on data Excellent written and verbal communication skills Eagerness to work in a fast paced, team oriented, quality oriented, results driven company Self-driven with the ability to manage high workloads Education and Experience Minimum 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline Formal project management training 10+ years of experience in Sr. Quality or CI roles in Aerospace or Automotive Special Skills Proficient in 8D problem solving, Measurement Systems, Statistical Analysis and Quality Planning tools.
