The role:

Senior Resource Manager

Are you a strategic leader with a background in consulting, transformation, or complex operational planning? Do you have a track record of delivering large-scale programmes that drive efficiency and innovation? We’re looking for a highly analytical and influential individual to take on the role of Senior Resource & Transformation Lead—a senior position at the heart of our operations.

What you’ll do:

  • Shape and drive long-term resource planning and transformation strategies, ensuring alignment with operational and financial objectives.
  • Lead a high-performing team of up to 6 direct and 20 indirect reports, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Own and deliver data-driven resource plans, balancing network schedules, financial targets, operational needs, and workforce development.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to provide expert analysis, highlight risks, and influence key decision-making.
  • Partner with product development, finance, recruitment, and learning & development to enhance workforce planning tools and processes.
  • Lead complex transformation initiatives that improve efficiency and operational performance, leveraging analytics to drive decision-making.
  • Work closely with industrial relations and trade unions to optimise workforce strategies while ensuring business continuity.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • A strategic mindset with the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity, making data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing at senior levels.
  • A track record of leading high-impact transformation programmes, ideally within consulting or complex operational environments.
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Your experience:

  • Experience in management consulting, transformation, operations management, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in analytics, workforce planning, or strategic resourcing within a complex organisation.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to develop business cases and drive cost efficiencies.
  • Experience leading large teams and working collaboratively across multiple business functions.
  • Proficiency in modelling tools (Excel essential, Tableau or similar BI reporting tools advantageous).
  • Aviation, logistics, or transport sector experience is beneficial but not required.
