Directly reporting to the Commodity Leader, as Sourcing Accessories & Controls Technical Leader you will analyze the market in order to identify potential eligible suppliers , performing a preliminary evaluation of the capabilities. You will be the sourcing reference for the development of new / legacy parts. You will also lead onsite visit / surveys to perform suppliers’ evaluations, to support corrective actions analysis and to review capability and capacity assessment, jointly with the Assessment team.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Understand the Accessories and Controls Commodity needs based on the Company Strategic plan
Perform market analysis (opportunities, constraints) with a global view, and map suppliers by sub commodities
Keep external focus on Market opportunities evolution (Exhibitions, B2B events, Communities, etc.) related to the relevant abovementioned Commodity
Set up and coordinate meetings with the Supplier’s representatives at Avio Aero premises after a preliminary contact has occurred. Will ensure participation of buyers and strategic sourcing, if needed will include other functions representatives
Jointly with the other commodities, set up inter-functional meetings to share the collected information for the potential suppliers in order to prioritize actions to launches the new source qualification
In collaboration with Strategic Sourcing build a cross-commodities data base to store all data, videos etc. and make sure that the information are easily accessible. Realize and maintain a robust activity tracking system (Bowler, tracker, MOM, etc.)
Build a strong relationship with GE Aviation Sourcing Team to collaborate and share opportunities
On site supplier visits to understand capabilities and support their onboarding and corrective / improvement actions implementation
Select suppliers to be evaluated by the Assessment Team
Ensure that potential suppliers sign NDA and other key documents needed for onboarding
Work with the commodity Team, connecting with other functions to address dual source needs
Support supplier development team during the new sources’ introduction (material and auxiliaries’ analysis, dimensional characteristics, special processes, development lead times and, qualification process
Support MAE / Engineering decision making about material and processes to be adopted during design phases
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelors Engineering degree from an accredited university or college
Competences and expertise acquired in the Accessories and Controls segments, preferable but not limited to the aerospace
Previous experience in Accessories and Controls business
Relevant experience in Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing and/or related field
Italian and English fluent
Availability to travel
Work Visa and Italian citizenship, in accordance with local regulation, is required
Desired Characteristics
Knowledge of Aviation Standard AS/EN9100
Deep knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes
Knowledge of the Accessories and Controls Industry commodity and understanding of the Aerospace & Defense markets
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to work in a matrix organization
