Job Description SummaryAs a Sourcing Leader, you will be responsible for the procurement (e.g., purchasing and accounts payable activities), as well as vendor management (e.g., negotiation, purchase, and relationships associated with outsourced services). Responsibilities include indirect sourcing, supplier selection, pricing & terms negotiation, contract negotiation, order processing, supplier performance management and import and export operations.
You will play a crucial role in shaping the sourcing strategy. You will lead and mentor a team of sourcers to motivate, engage and achieve continuous improvement. Your role will encompass the strategic planning and execution processes, ensuring alignment with the companys growth.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- The Sourcing Leader will manage or perform strategic sourcing activities to manage risk and optimize the value/resilience of materials/services, including:
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing needs, develop buyer/market profiles and define acceptable service levels.
- Negotiating contracts and coordinating supplier integration plans with internal stakeholders.
- Establishing supplier relationship management processes and continuous improvement goals/programs.
- Monitoring market dynamics that impact materials/services availability and/or pricing.
In this role, the Sourcing Leader’s primary responsibilities will include:- Sourcing lead for all activities related to the procurement of materials and services.
- Responsible to define and implement procurement strategy that align with the business objectives.
- Lead a team of technical sourcers, providing direction and support in their day-to-day activities while fostering an environment of learning and growth.
- Develop relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage all contracting requirements with supply base to secure favorable terms for GE, monitor adherence to terms and address improvements when required.
- Develop, track, and report KPIs to drive the continuous improvement of the Sourcing department.
- Identify, engage, and assess capabilities of new vendors to supply materials and services to GE.
- Support/lead multiple cross-functional project teams to provide procurement input for key project milestones.
- Lead project or process continuous improvement activities of diverse scope. Working independently, or as part of larger project team, make recommendations for improvement based on detailed analysis, and implement actions to drive improvements.
- Manage import and export operations, including documentation, customs clearance, and transportation arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent Spanish and English communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
- Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement projects for sourcing.
- Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into effective sourcing strategies.
- A good understanding of technical roles and requirements, staying updated with tech industry trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Strong analytical skills, using data and metrics to inform decisions and strategies.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace and sourcing diverse talent.
- Bachelor´s degree.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience implementing projects applying lean manufacturing methodology.
- Lean manufacturing related certifications.
- Established project management skills.
