Job Description SummaryThe Senior Director of Software Asset Management is a key leadership role reporting directly to the to the Executive - SAM and VMO, Leader. This position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive software asset management strategies to optimize software licensing, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with licensing agreements and regulatory requirements. They will lead a team of Software experts for GE Aerospace DT that will manage software asset, standardize processes, control cost, and support IT security and audit compliance.

Essential Responsibilities
In this role, the successful candidate will:
- Develop and lead the software asset management strategy aligned with organizational goals and software vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements, minimizing the risk of non-compliance and associated penalties.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, participate in negotiating favorable licensing terms, and manage software procurement effectively.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of software licenses, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Establish and enforce software asset management policies, processes, and controls.
- Prepare for and manage software license audits, responding to audit requests and minimizing potential liabilities.
- Lead and develop a team of software asset management professionals and influence stakeholders throughout Aerospace
- Provide regular reports and analysis on software asset management activities and cost savings.
- Educate internal stakeholders on software asset management best practices and compliance requirements.
- Evaluate software technologies for compatibility and compliance with licensing agreements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 10 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 13 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 15 years of professional experience
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience Technical Program Management
- Minimum 5 years professional experience as a People Leader.
- Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience
Desired Skills:
- Professional certifications in software asset management (e.g., SAM, CSAM, IAITAM) are advantageous.
- Strong experience in strategic contract negotiation and supplier management.
- Demonstrated effective strategy development and execution. Strategic thinker with the ability to create and execute concrete action plans.
- Strong negotiation experience and skills, while working with complex suppliers
- Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
- Experience leading and influencing across a complex, global matrix organization.
- Collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from stakeholders.
- Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies related to job responsibilities demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activities.
- Demonstrated understanding of Lean principles and implementing standard work. Uses critical thinking skills and disciplined approaches to help leaders and leadership teams resolve issues and define solutions.
- Ability to establish operational performance metrics and drive continuous efficiencies and improvements for systems, processes, and resources.
- Ability to decompose problems and make decisions when problems or solutions are not 100 defined.
- May manage other people leaders and demonstrated ability to manage senior individual contributors.
- Experience of coaching, mentoring, and developing team members and providing feedback on performance toward goals.
- Ability to proactively identify and remove obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team.

The base pay range for this position is $176,000 - $293,300. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on February 23, 2024.
