POSITION: STATION MANAGER
This full-time position works as part of the Grant Aviation management team to ensure that our stations operate efficiently and safely. Our Station Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations that include the safe operations of aircraft and other related equipment; accurate, timely, and efficient operations of flight schedules; and safe and reliable movement of passengers and cargo. Duties include oversight of aircraft dispatch, US Mail processing, passenger reservations, check-in, manifests, and various billing and accounting requirements. Station Managers may work on a shift schedule (e.g. 2 weeks on/2 weeks off).
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ensure safe operations for all aspects of the station.
- Oversee and manage flight schedules, routings, passenger and freight loading, and reservation operations.
- Maintain staffing levels to perform all required tasks efficiently and safely.
- Oversee accounting, dispatch, and safety reporting activities.
- Manage daily operations of stations, including opening, closing, basic maintenance, and equipment accountability.
- Coordinate with corporate management for aircraft movements, maintenance, and other requirements.
- Manage company property, such as housing and ground equipment.
- Interface with local communities and serviced villages for business opportunities and special events.
- Other duties as required by corporate management.
POSITION REPORTING STRUCTURE
- Reports to the Director of Station Operations
- Supervises Customer Service, Reservations, Station, Ramp and Dispatch Agents.
- Works closely with Lead Pilots and Mechanics, and Facility Maintenance team to ensure safe and efficient dispatching of flights and maintenance of aircraft, equipment and facilities.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Safe operations of all station aspects.
- Scheduled flights depart on time depending on weather conditions.
- Profitability of flights based on passenger ridership and cargo shipments.
- Adherence to USPS regulations for handling of US Mail.
- Customer satisfaction reviews.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience with management and customer service.
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Familiar with equipment operations in remote locations.
- Knowledge of logistics and/or flight operations.
- General maintenance or construction skills helpful.
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with ability to learn and master new computer programs.
- Be available for shift work to include nights and weekends.
- Able to pass a 10 year background check and work in the US.
