JOB DESCRIPTION: SUPERVISOR of MAINTENANCE CONTROL

FLSA STAUS: EXEMPT

REPORT TO: Assistant Director of Maintenance

The Supervisor of Maintenance Control is responsible for supervising a team of Maintenance Controllers who are responsible for coordinating scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of aircraft. This is an office position (non-remote). The incumbent will be required to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance to Dallas, Texas. Various shifts are available. Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Duties

  • Supervise the daily activities of Maintenance Controllers, ensuring continual safe aircraft for scheduled service.
  • Support line station mechanics, vendors, and contractors, performing routine and non-routine maintenance in accordance with GMM policies and procedures.
  • Perform period performance evaluations of team.
  • Assist Manager of Maintenance Control with special projects.
  • Answer phones and emails while on duty to coordinate maintenance events with maintenance providers.
  • Keep the GOC informed of aircraft status. Providing estimated time for return to service for out-of service aircraft and the status of deferred items.
  • Perform desktop audits whenever a one time maintenance provider is required per the GMM at locations where a licensed mechanic is required to deal with AOG situations.
  • Verify documents prior to release from maintenance.
  • Participate in the Company’s quarterly Company’s Continuous Analysis Surveillance System (CASS) program as an active member.
  • Identifying risks, containing them, and putting countermeasures in place.
  • Receiving, recording and approving (if applicable) requests to assign Minimum Equipment List (MEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL), NEF and control numbers to aircraft ensuring that aircraft are in compliance with the requirements for MEL/CDL/NEF deferral.
  • Coordinate technical publications in support of approved vendors.
  • Coordinate with stock room personnel and maintenance in prioritizing equipment repair needs.
  • Develop the knowledge, skills, capabilities, capacities, proficiencies, and workflows best practices of self and assigned personnel to drive business results.
  • Develop and aggregate broad knowledge of all airline operational teams.
  • Assist in planning and implementation of long-term objectives.
  • Create and administer work schedules, performance objectives/goals, and training for Maintenance Control personnel.
  • Monitor and approve timecards. Monitor and approve PTO.
  • Assist with all required audits and internal self-audits are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all assigned work documents and records.
  • Ensure that personnel within the department (including themselves) have current training and qualifications to perform assigned tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance and/or Manager of Maintenance Control.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Prior Maintenance Control experience.
  • Current Airframe & Powerplant certificate required.
  • 3 years or more of verifiable maintenance control of experience.

Preferred

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5 years or more maintenance control experience.
  • Experience with Cessna Caravan 208 and Pilatus PC-12 aircraft.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA).
  • Experience on electronic record keeping with maintenance and engineering (M&E) tracking systems such as CAMP, Flightdocs, Traxall, Trax, etc.

Miscellaneous Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
  • Computer, office equipment, phone skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
  • Ability to work within a 24/7 operation including holidays.
  • Ability to pass 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen as required by company and/or airline regulations.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986.
  • Available for occasional overnight travel
