SUPERVISOR, PLUMBING

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the facilitys plumbing systems are operating reliably, efficiently, and in compliance with all plumbing safety regulations
  • Have high regard for personal safety and safety of others while providing safety leadership and driving a culture of safety excellence
  • Lead development of hourly plumbing work crew and craft skills as necessary
  • Monitor quality of plumbing work through procedures, training, and discipline to reduce re-work issues
  • Promote safety through proactive involvement in safety training, adherence to the SpaceX safety program, and implementation of Plumbing Safe Work Practices
  • Identify and implement plumbing improvements that result in year-over-year improvements in safety, production, maintenance, and costs
  • Confirm and keep necessary material/plumbing stock
  • Specify and order long lead material items
  • Work with 1st/2nd shift leads to coordinate work tickets
  • Track, comment, and respond to work tickets
  • Help project manage plumbing scope of work for larger capital improvement projects
  • Coordinate and execute facility/equipment load studies and plumbing quality measures
  • Help gather information for required plumbing engineering
  • Meet with plumbing contractors and internal customers to coordinate larger tickets
  • Promote plumbing documentation of records and troubleshooting techniques by the hourly plumbing crew to facilitate knowledge share among the crew
  • Confirm and help coordinate preventative maintenance for all plumbing infrastructure
Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 5+ years of plumbing experience in an industrial plumbing maintenance setting
  • 2+ years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting plant plumbing distribution systems
  • 1+ years of experience managing a team, people, or projects

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Intermediate/advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn various PC-based production/administrative applications
  • Knowledge of plumbing safe work practices
  • Knowledge of plumbing theory and its applications
  • Experience expanding skills/abilities through job training, work assignments, seminars, and other training activities
  • Experience as a leader improving the following: operations, environmental, health and safety, productivity, product quality, culture development, and cost management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Hawthorne, CA area
  • Must be willing to travel – up to 10%
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Willing to perform work in extreme outdoor environments – cold, heat, and rain
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Supervisor, Plumbing: $105,000.00 - $135,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
