In this role you will be responsible for the Avio Aero transport and the implementation of transport guidelines and strategies in accordance with applicable policies and directives. You will also guide the freight forwarders to execute the business needs and the Avio Aero Sites towards transport compliance.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Superintend inbound and outbound transports, shuttle system and distribution center
Ensure the Avio Aero Sites have defined transport services for the individuated needs
Monitor the performance of transport providers (TT, repeatability,..)
Identify, propose and implement new technical solutions providing the company the best opportunities on the transport market
Guide Site Logistics by providing operating instructions on transport
Guide freight forwarders in implementing Avio Aero requests
Contribute to Logistics cost cutting action
Write transport specs for bidding purposes and participate for Avio Aero Global Logistics in the global GE transport tenders, drive technical negotiations and support commercial negotiations with freight forwarders
Identify issues and reduce transport process variation by applying Lean tools and tactics
Define a proper set of KPI for the area
Manage insurance aspects of transport
Contribute to the drafting of transport procedures
Qualification/Requirements
Degree from an accredited university, preferably in Technical/Legal disciplines
Previous experience in Transportation/Logistics/Customs related roles
Direct experience in interfacing with customer/supplier
Expertise or knowledge in any of the following subjects: transport, customs, military licenses, logistics
Excellent knowledge of Excel
Sense of urgency and attention to details
Available to work in a various and challenging environment
Proactive, autonomous, creative with problem solving attitude
Fluent Italian and English
Work Visa and Italian citizenship, in accordance with local regulation, is required
Desired Characteristics
Experience at a main freight forwarder
Negotiation experience with suppliers and/or customers
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proven analytical skills, with diplomatic attitude
Teamwork and diplomatic attitude
Knowledge of SAP
