The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.

Role Description:

Responsible for providing the core in-country management of the Quality Control department, including leadership, oversight, and quality assurance of all work performed by the Technical Inspectors. Ultimately responsible for upholding regulatory compliance and ensuring all maintenance is conducted in accordance with the adequacy of procedures and approved standards for safe operational practices. In coordination with the Maintenance Lead Supervisor, ensures that all aircraft are maintained in accordance with applicable technical data, and all aircraft meet airworthy conditions prior to release for flight. Manages the Site Quality Control Program and keeps the Program Quality Control manager informed of all matters pertaining to the Quality Control function.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provides daily supervision of the Quality Control Inspectors, Leads and Supervisor in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
  • Ensures proper Quality oversight and surveillance by the sampling of work performed to validate maintenance practices and processes along with proper documentation are accomplished according to the maintenance program.
  • Principal point of contact for creating process flow guidelines, policies and procedures as directed by the Program Quality Control Manager and Country Site manager.
  • Oversees the Quality Control Audit inspection program.
  • Focuses in developing and implementing action plans to meet compliance with contractual statement of work. 
  • Ability to travel CONUS and/or OCONUS locations to provide field support.

Job Requirements:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant License.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience, of which 5 must be specialized in supporting an aviation-aerospace program.
  • Previous aircraft inspector on H-60 and or DHC-8.
  • Knowledge of Army Regulations 95-1, DA PAM 738-750-751 or Air Force Technical Orders System.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • OCONUS:
    • Ability to pass physical screening.
    • Passport with 18 months remaining.

Preferred:

  • Department of State or Department of Defense aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school or related experience and or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • FAA Inspection Authorization.
  • Knowledge of Army Regulations 95-1, DA Pam 738-751, ATP 3-04.7 and or other Military Technical Orders System.
