Job Description:

The Airline Key Account Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining long-term relationships with designated airline accounts. They aim to maximize sales opportunities, ensure client retention, and foster customer satisfaction through effective account management strategies in line with the Company’s strategic priorities to increase volumes and revenue.


Responsibilities:



  1. Client Relationship Management:


    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at assigned airline accounts.

    • Be the primary point of communication and reference for all internal matters, initiatives and directives relating to your client portfolio.


  2. Business Development:


    • Ensure achievement of revenue sales targets in accordance with Company commercial and marketing objectives.

    • Execute processes designed to target potential incremental business and increase market share where required.

    • Develop account plans and strategies to achieve sales targets and expand the companys footprint within the airline industry.


  3. Contract Management:


    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with airline clients, ensuring terms are favourable and in line with company policies and objectives.

    • Monitor contract performance and compliance, addressing any issues that arise promptly.


  4. Customer Satisfaction and Retention:


    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing client concerns, resolving issues, and maintaining regular communication.

    • Proactively anticipate client needs and provide solutions to enhance the overall customer experience.


  5. Market Analysis and Strategy:


    • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities.

    • Use market insights to develop strategic plans that drive revenue growth and strengthen the companys competitive position.


  6. Reporting and Forecasting:


    • Prepare and present regular reports on account status and performance, sales forecasts, market share/trends and other key metrics.

    • Utilize CRM and systems and tools to track sales activities, pipeline management, and performance against targets.


  7. Travel and Meetings:


    • Travel to client locations as needed to strengthen relationships and discuss business opportunities.

    • Attend industry events, conferences, and client meetings as required.



Working Conditions:







      • Typical Hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work required for client meetings or events.

      • Conditions: This is primarily an office based position with some travel to client sites and industry events, both domestic and international.






Additional Requirements:







      • Whilst based in Sydney, the position will manage national portfolios, requiring working hours to be adjusted to meet business hours in other states. This position will also involve domestic travel and extended interstate stays on a regular basis as well as attendance to events which may fall on weekends and outside business hours.

      • Must hold a valid local driver’s licence and a well maintained vehicle which can be used for business-use.

      • Candidates must have the legal right to live and work unrestricted in Australia.





Job Requirements:





      • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field with a minimum of 8 year’s relevant airline and/or travel industry experience of which a minimum of 5 years should be at a leadership level.

      • Relationship Building: Commercially astute with an exceptional flair for forging strong commercial relationships.

      • Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate contracts and agreements that are mutually beneficial with the capability to persuade and negotiate at all levels.

      • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve business goals.

      • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.

      • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced ability in interpreting and analysing data/statistics/reports etc.

      • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

      • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and client needs.
