Information Assurance Professional

Contract Position

$46.70-$51.70/Hour

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

• Support Special Access Programs by administering Information Assurance (IA) duties, including Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities, system security categorization, and continuous monitoring.
• Develop and maintain security documentation such as System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports, SCTMs, and POA&Ms in compliance with IA policies.
• Execute system audits, media reviews, and configuration management for hardware and software.
• Perform security testing and evaluation to ensure the proper implementation of security controls.
• Mitigate vulnerabilities throughout the system lifecycle and support compliance with cybersecurity frameworks.
• Conduct IA security training to educate system users on risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage incident response actions and ensure system operations, maintenance, and disposal comply with the System Security Plan (SSP).
• Coordinate with System Administrators and IT staff to implement and maintain required configurations.
• Assume ISSM responsibilities as assigned by the Region Manager or in their absence.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a specialized field with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.

• Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance.

• Technical Expertise:

  • Proficient understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, including RMF, JSIG, ICD-503, and NIST SP 800-53.
  • Experience implementing government security requirements and conducting system/network audits.
  • Familiarity with Assured File Transfer (AFT) tools and processes.
  • Proficiency with security assessment/hardening tools such as STIGs, SCAP, ACAS, and Nessus.

• Preferred Experience:

  • Hands-on systems administration experience.
  • Technical experience creating POA&Ms, corrective action plans, and security documentation.
  • Knowledge of NISPOM, JSIG, and CNSSI 1253 frameworks.

• Certifications:

  • DoD 8140 IAM-I level certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CAP, GSLC) preferred or must obtain within six (6) months of hire.
