Hybrid Work:
This is a hybrid work position in Calgary, Alberta and requires in-person collaboration at the WestJet Campus (22 Aerial Place NE) 3 days per week. This provides flexibility the remaining 40 of the work week. This hybrid work plan allows for critically important learning, collaboration and networking with our colleagues. Specific days in the office are agreed upon by the team.

As an Advisor- Social Media, you would be Responsible for executing WestJet’s social media strategy, while collaborating with WestJet stakeholders to build and deploy to our organic social channels and ensuring a consistent brand voice.
You would continue to build WestJet’s presence on social media to drive positive sentiment towards the brand along with supporting stakeholder initiatives that can drive positive impact on revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside other social media team members to develop and build content in support of our channels, the communications teams’ objectives and key stakeholders.
- Manage monthly content calendar for our social media channels while ensuring regular reporting.
- Analyse and report on social media performance, while identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with Social Media Manager to develop processes around WestJet’s influencer and ambassador program and strategy, which includes strategic planning, contract negotiation and execution, itinerary planning, hosting and identifying opportunities for integration within stakeholder campaigns
- Collaborate with Social Media manager in developing, including the identification, planning and execution of employee engagement opportunities across our owned channels;
- Meet with other stakeholders to advise on social media content strategy and application
- Provide support to coordinators as needed in stakeholder management
Requirements & Experience:
- 3- 5 years of social media experience in various capacities including reporting, communication and brand marketing for or in support of a medium – large sized organization
- College or university level of studies
- Understanding of paid media (asset)
- Strong understanding of social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Pinterest.
- Must have social media presence.
- Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently and with a strong understanding of how to write for social media.
- Ability to analyse social reporting, understanding of key metrics and how to relay them to stakeholders.
- Ability to travel and work some weekend (having a valid passport and being eligible to travel anywhere WestJet flies into mandatory)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and facilitate meetings as needed
- Good critical thinking skill and solution oriented.
