Play a Critical Role in Aircraft Maintenance & Mission ReadinessPDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Repair and Modification Technician to join the team at Travis AFB, CA. In this role, you’ll be responsible for performing essential aircraft repairs, modifications, and maintenance to keep C-17 aircraft mission-ready. Your expertise in troubleshooting, inspecting, and upgrading complex aircraft systems will directly contribute to aircraft safety, reliability, and operational success.
Location: Travis AFB, CA
Job Type: Full-Time, 6-Month Consultant
Shift: Monday – Friday, First Shift (6 AM – 2:30 PM)
Pay Rate: $35.62 - $43.60 per hour
What You’ll Do
Assemble, disassemble, and modify aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement upgrades.
Troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, diagnosing and repairing faults.
Oversee assembly, disassembly, and overhauls of critical aircraft systems.
Configure aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment for performance verification.
Perform validation and verification testing on aircraft systems and components.
Document repairs, test results, and modifications to ensure regulatory compliance.
Inspect components to verify flight-worthiness and adherence to safety standards.
Provide training and mentorship to maintenance personnel as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in aircraft repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes.
Experience reading and interpreting technical publications and maintenance manuals.
Ability to travel 15-25 domestically and internationally for support assignments.
Must pass Ground Operations Personnel (GOP) and air respirator medical physicals and maintain certification.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience with the C-17 aircraft platform.
Strong knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, electrical, and propulsion systems.
Ability to analyze baseline maintenance plans and develop scheduled visit maintenance plans.
Experience conducting maintenance debriefs and verifying completed work.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting C-17 blueprints and USAF Technical Orders.
Ability to meet C-17 Fall Protection System weight requirements (<225 lbs).
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
Ability to establish positive working relationships with internal teams and external customers.

Pay Details: $35.62 to $43.60 per hour
