Airbus China R&D centre introduction

The Airbus China R&D Centre is located in Suzhou, China. It will carry out R&D activities focusing on the next generation technologies, and merge the new trends of information technology and the manufacturing & services business in Aerospace to provide R&D and innovation services for Airbus globally in hydrogen infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, electrification, sustainable cabin and future new technologies. It will lead the transformation and upgrading the Aerospace industry with digitalization and intelligence.

The Standards Engineer - 3GPP Specialist is required to:

• Monitor and analyze 3GPP standards development. 

• Develop a strategic view on standardization for our products.

• Work in an international team of 3GPP delegates.

• Participate in 3GPP working sessions and represent us.

• As a Standards Engineer - 3GPP specialist your responsibility is to monitor the 3GPP standards and relevant regulation development for key application areas for future aviation products and represent our requirements.
  You will work in an international business environment where your experience, expertise and knowledge will directly impact the global business and will set the fundament for our future products. 

  
  Your role is to implement the following mission:

• Participate at standards and regulations meetings and follow development of selected activities. 

• Discuss and share relevant changes and plans with experts and colleagues in China and Europe. 

• Align and develop Airbus position for relevant areas. 

You will be part of an agile team that is located in Suzhou and Shenzhen. In addition, there are
arrangements for mobile working. This role will need frequent business travels. Being a relatively small
community within Airbus, we rely on the curiosity and flexibility of our employees while offering various
opportunities for insights and deployments in related activities.

Qualification:

• You hold a university degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering or comparable. A PhD in this field would be a plus. 

• You have at least 5 years experience in Telecommunications Engineering and 2 years experience with 3GPP standardization body.

• You should have good understanding of the IEEE 802.11, 3GPP and other wireless communication technology standards (4G/5G/WiFi5/WiFi6, etc.).

• Ideally, you bring experience with regulations and have experience with 3GPP RAN activities.

• You have fluent communication (reading, listening, speaking, writing) skills in English and Chinese.
