Strong knowledge of government contracting, SBA 8(a) contracting, joint ventures, mentor protégés, partnerships and mergers, labor law, human resources law, the federal Miller Act and any Alabama state version of it, and Alabama state statutes, regulations, and principles.
Knowledge of legal methods and processes, including the administrative regulation promulgation process, legislative drafting, and the legislative process.
Ability to analyze legal documents and interpret laws, regulations, and policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA accredited law school.
License to practice law by the Alabama Bar Association or ability to obtain license by reciprocity within six months of hire.
Minimum five years of legal experience required, previous experience or education in government contracting, corporate, commercial, securities and employment law preferred.
Valid state driver’s license and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of parent and holding line Driving Policy.
Ability to pass a drug and background screening.

Calista Corporation’s Legal Department is a fast-paced, multi-tasking, customer service-oriented office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. Adaptability regarding schedule and task changes is necessary to accommodate changing priorities. Overtime may be required. Professional business appearance required.
