Safran Aircraft Engines designs, produces, and sells, alone or in partnership, commercial and military aircraft engines offering world-class performance. Through CFM International*, Safran Aircraft Engines is the worlds leading supplier of engines for single-aisle mainline commercial jets. Safran Aerospace Composites in Rochester, NH is dedicated to the production of 3D woven composite parts, made using the RTM (resin transfer molding) process. The first application of this technology is the production of blades and fan cases for the LEAP (registered tradespan) engine, developed by CFM International, designed to power the next generation of single-aisle aircraft. This technology creates less noise and decreases fuel consumption for aircraft engines, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Position Summary:
This position will be responsible to successfully operate all equipment within the bonding process (either in small parts [bond layup / de-flash / surface prep], or large parts). Standard work methods and safe work habits must be followed to ensure conformance to customer requirements. This position reports to a Production Supervisor and works under the direction of a Lead Operator.
This is a first shift position, Monday-Thursday, 5:15am-3:15pm
Job Requirements:
Job Specifications
•\tHigh school diploma or high school equivalency required.
•\tPrior experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
•\tExperience with composite materials preferred.
•\tBasic mechanical aptitude; familiarity with metric system preferred.
•\tExcellent hand eye coordination including the ability to manipulate small items with speed and accuracy. Capable of producing fine finish work and assembling components accurately
•\tRequires good organization skills and attention to detail.
•\tCapable of working with epoxy and adhesive materials.
•\tAbility to participate effectively in a team environment.
•\tGood written and verbal communication skills.
•\tBasic computer skills including software data entry and keyboarding.
•\tPhysically capable of working while wearing a respirator.
Working Conditions
•\tThe work is performed in a plant environment. Employee will be exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
•\tLighting and temperature are adequate.
•\tEye protection must be worn in manufacturing areas, approximately 90% of a standard work day.
•\tEar protection must be worn during certain operations, approximately 10% of a standard work day.
•\tRespirators must be worn during certain processes, approximately 10% of a standard work day.
•\tVarious moving parts and machinery common to manufacturing facilities.
•\tFrequently required to reach with hands and arms.
•\tRegularly required to stand and walk.
•\tOccasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
•\tSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
