Position Overview:
To assist the Training and Development Manager in overseeing and coordinating all support activity in the Cormorant Training Center, including, but not limited to technical training instruction.
What You Will Do:
- Assist the CPT Supervisor with all aspects of maintenance and troubleshooting/repair of the CPT
- Develop course material
- Provision of pre-course package prior to commencement of course
- Compiling course reports
- Prepare instructor notes for lessons
- Instruct theoretical and practical A/C systems
- Assess student progress
- Ensure all course material is up-to-date and current to RCAF Standards
- Liaise with 442 Sqn OTF
- Advise, assist, and brief school personnel on training matters, including instructional techniques, courseware development, distance learning initiatives, evaluation, and testing concept
- Conduct school instructor evaluations
- Analyzing training problems and recommending appropriate corrective
measures
- Ensuring an effective standards monitoring system is maintained in the school
- Development of Training
- Servicing and maintenance of all training equipment installed and used
- Liaise with the Standards cell
- Liaise with Leonardo Helicopters regarding course material through the contract manager
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of all authorized courses to RCAF standards
- Assist in the development of new courseware and training requirements IAW direction provided by the Crown
- Assist in the development of training specifications IAW direction provided by the Crown
- Assist in budgetary planning and management for the CTC
- Maintain current Aircraft and Maintenance Release Authorizations
What You Will Bring:
- Graduate of a recognized aircraft maintenance course or apprenticeship program and hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license, or be qualified as an aircraft aviation technician with the Canadian Armed Forces or equivalent commercial experience
- Have a strong technical aptitude in diagnosing, testing, and repairing problems and issues with computer hardware and software
- A background as a Technical Instructor in the Canadian Forces or an equivalent level of management/technical experience in a commercial setting would be considered a strong asset
- Five years of CH-149 operational/maintenance experience or operational experience as a Flight Engineer would be considered a strong asset
- Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of training management and demonstratable skill in instructional techniques
- Ability to manage all administrative aspects of an aircraft training cell
- Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, including, but not limited to power plants, flight controls, dynamic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental, basic structures, avionics systems and power generation and distribution systems
- Knowledge of corrosion control techniques
- Capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints, and Standard Plant Practices
- Advanced ability to use both standard and training computer programs and such specialized instructional packages as may be necessary in the performance of duties
- Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program.
