Position Summary
Cement Operator is a job classification that performs tasks primarily in the Polymers area. Manufactures and mixes cement, adhesives and other compounds. Employee must repeatedly produce quality products efficiently while maintaining a high regard for his/her own safety and health as well as that of his/her co-workers.
Responsibilities
Responsible for mixing, dispersing and transporting chemical formulations of resins, cements, accelerators, solvents, mix compounds, etc. used in the manufacture of products such as fuel tanks, coated fabrics, Ice guards, and related products. Responsible for collection and storage of scrap and hazardous waste drums. Must operate cement and rubber mill, reactors, and other equipment and machinery. Must maintain accurate and complete documentation of mix formulations and accurately label products. Responsible for transporting. Responsible for orderliness of work area and proper care of equipment, materials and tools.
Various other duties as assigned by superior.
Physical Requirements:
Occasional heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds required.- Frequently lift up to 25 pounds.- Must maneuver fifty-five (55) gallon drum on hand trucks.- Must grip and appropriately use hand tools and measuring instruments.- Bending, squatting and stooping required.- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
