OnsiteA Process Technician I in the aerospace industry plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and durability of aircraft parts and components through precise chemical processing. This role involves a dynamic combination of tasks, each essential to maintaining the highest standards of aircraft performance and safety.
What You Will Do:
1. Chemical Processing Expertise:
- Master a variety of chemical processes, such as anodizing, chromate conversion coating, and chemical etching, to ensure parts meet exacting aerospace specifications.
2. Hazardous Waste Management:
- Stay well-informed about the disposal of hazardous waste, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting workplace safety.
3. Chemical Awareness:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the chemicals used daily, their properties, and safe handling practices.
4. Standards and Specifications:
- Be knowledgeable of all relevant customer and company specifications, as well as international standards, to ensure all processes and finishes meet the highest quality requirements.
5. Process Evaluation:
- Skillfully process parts to meet required specifications and pass all necessary evaluations, demonstrating a high level of competence and quality control.
6. Documentation:
- Accurately document the processing of parts to meet customer requirements, ensuring traceability and accountability.
7. Training and Development:
- Be capable and willing to train other departmental employees, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
8. Housekeeping and Safety:
- Show a strong commitment to good housekeeping and safety practices, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
9. Independent Work:
- Demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision, showcasing reliability and self-motivation.
10. Equipment Proficiency:
- Be proficient in handling all relevant equipment, ensuring efficient and accurate job completion.
11. Team Collaboration:
- Exhibit effective cooperation and communication with co-workers and personnel in other departments, promoting teamwork and a positive work culture.
12. Technical Interpretation:
- Capably interpret and understand part drawings and illustrated planning, ensuring precise execution of work instructions.
13. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
- Properly wear and use PPE as required for the job, prioritizing personal and workplace safety.
Qualifications We Require:
- Typically requires HS diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Process technician experience.
