Class A Truck Driver Job Description
Job Summary: Level one truck drivers will be expected to follow routes that will be provided to deliver materials to facility buildings and local suppliers. A clean driving record is required of all drivers. Drivers will perform daily vehicle inspections. Level one drivers will also be required to read shipping documents and confirm that their load matches the records provided. They must be forklift certified and be able to safely load and unload materials and parts onto their truck. Additionally, they must perform thorough visual inspections to make sure none of the items in the shipment are defective or damaged.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Following predetermined routes, safely transport parts to and from facility buildings and supplier locations
- Perform daily vehicle inspections
- Read shipment documentation and ensure that their load is correct
- Operate a forklift and safely load and unload materials
- Perform visual inspections for part defects or damage
Required education / experience:
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to follow safety guidelines when loading/unloading vehicle and handling materials
- Clean Driving Record
- 2 years of experience as a delivery driver
- GED or High School diploma preferred but not required
- Forklift Certification
- Class A Driver License Required
