Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide technical assistance to liaise on engineering and technical matters to internal and external customers on maintenance, repair, overhaul, warranty and training of Embraer aircraft structures, systems and components.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze and evaluate service bulletins, reports, documents, manuals, technical publications, technical problems, warranty claims and component repairs.
  • Analyze and provide engineering dispositions / recommendations on issues / matters related to aircraft structures and aircraft systems / components.
  • Present and discuss alternative solutions for maintenance problems.
  • Stay current with air management, landing gears, hydraulics, mechanical, flight controls, avionics, electrical, fuel, power plant, interior and structure systems of Embraer Commercial aircraft.
  • Support Engineering OEM
  • Provides Feedback, Problem Areas, Maturity Life Cycle

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

  • Associates Degree or high school graduate with technical training and knowledge normally achieved through graduation from a university or equivalent experience.
  • A&P preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a specialized functional discipline
  • Engineering internship or work experience acquired in airline or aviation/aeronautical industries is highly desired.
  • A successful track record and experience with process improvement in maintenance and/or production environments
  • 5 or more years of verifiable hands-on experience spent in the repair, maintenance, overhaul or manufacture of Commercial Jets.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Comprehension required of fundamental practices associated within the field of work assigned.
  • Limited knowledge of industry policies and practices which are gradually obtained via this entry level.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and structures.
  • Knowledge of the Embraer products and the organization.
  • Ability to interpret and read technical drawings.
  • Proficient with computer and mobile platforms (including the Office suite), Web and E-mail Tools
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Detail oriented and focused on customers’ needs.
  • Flexible and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Desirable: Microsoft Office Access & Excel VBA
  • High level communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Strong presence on maintenance/ production floor continuously driving improvement.
  • Analytical problem solving ability, process oriented.
  • Understand, read and write English

Working Conditions / Environment / Special Requirements

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
  • As required by the position, must have the ability to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 "Respirator Protection" regulations with no restrictions that would prevent the proper use and/or seal of the respirator.
  • Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations
  • Ensures employment law, work security/safety rules, and company policy and procedures compliance.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required
