Cybersecurity Penetration Tester- Mid Level

Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a multi-skilled team to conduct cybersecurity analysis on systems/software to identify vulnerabilities and improve system security.
- Support the 48th Cyberspace Test Squadron and the DoD Cybersecurity community in planning and executing Cybersecurity Developmental and Operational Test & Evaluation for major DoD programs.
- Develop and implement cybersecurity test strategies and ensure alignment with Air Force standards.
- Oversee cyber test events, including planning, execution, analysis, and reporting.
- Coordinate system security analysis to identify vulnerabilities, and ensure proper test documentation and communication to stakeholders.
- Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and trends to adjust test plans accordingly.
- Manage relationships with Air Force stakeholders, including leadership, technical personnel, and vendors.
- Ensure team meets cybersecurity test requirements and provides high-quality test reports.
- Travel up to 15-20 weeks per year, possibly to worldwide sites.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) or equivalent experience.
- Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret.
- Experience:
- 3-10 years of cybersecurity experience, or equivalent experience for degree substitution.
- DoD Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 3 certification (e.g., CSSP, CASP+) required within six months of employment.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity testing tools (e.g., vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, risk assessments).
- Experience with Aircraft, Weapon, Cloud, and/or Traditional Internet Protocol system architectures/avionics.
- Knowledge of industry cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Skills:
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity methodologies and standards.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity testing methodologies and risk mitigation strategies.
