Shift - Mon- Friday 1st Shift
Pay Most likely to start at 26-28 and then move up down the line with Certifications
Requirements:
Servicing of gasoline and diesel powered buses from basic maintenance and minor repairs to full vehicle service
Diagnose mechanical defects and carries out a preventive maintenance program
Major and minor overhaul of engines and transmissions
Service and maintain brakes, air compressors, fuel systems, ignitions, HVAC systems and Wheel Chair lifts
Service and maintain vehicle air conditioning units
Inspects and repairs school buses per DOT requirements
Keep records of time and materials used
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Medium duty bus experience, International Truck/Bus preferred
Must have own set of tools
Knowledge of the provisions of codes and laws relating to pupil transportation (i.e. IDOT inspections)CDL class B License with air brake endorsement preferredA/C Certification
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion in a timely manner
Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance as attendance is an essential function of the position
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs
