Job Title: Diesel MechanicJob Description
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will perform truck repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standards, run diagnostics on vehicles, and collaborate with other team members to meet company goals. This role requires a strong awareness in diesel or auto mechanics.
Responsibilities
- Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and buses.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation, and oil changes.
- Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop.
- Collaborate with the repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs.
- Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks.
- Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles.
Essential Skills- 1 - 3 years of experience working as a Mechanic.
- Experience with diagnostic and repair of engines.
- Experience with cooling and analog systems.
- Diesel Mechanic or auto mechanic experience.
- Troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with electrical systems.
- Experience with power generation equipment repair.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- CDL License is a plus (not required).
- Cummins Engine experience preferred.
- Must be able to obtain SIDA Badge for the Airport.

Work Environment
Candidates will be working in an indoor mechanic shop, which can get cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The culture at this location is very laid back, and everyone helps each other out. You will be working with lead mechanics in the shop. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, and the company provides a uniform. Various shifts are available, including 1st Shift (7am - 3:30pm), 2nd Shift (2pm - 10:30pm), and 3rd Shift (10pm - 6:30am).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jamaica, New York.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
