Position Summary
Role Summary
Responsible for setting and operating conventional machines with some undertaking of bench dressing duties. Part of a multidisciplinary team achieving performance measures, continuous improvement and first line maintenance objectives.
Core Responsibilities:
Set and operate a variety of conventional machines, which could include turning, milling, drilling, press tool, grinding, or honing type equipment etc.
Multi-manning of more than one machine / piece of equipment, where applicable, will be required.
Ability to use a range of measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, diameter gauges, comparators etc.
Produce first off component of batch and inspect before proceeding to rest of batch.
Accountable for inspecting and ensuring that all components comply with drawings, and/or layouts.
Perform dressing of components if required and tool maintenance as necessary.
Skills, Knowledge & Attributes
A good standard of general education is required.
An engineering apprenticeship is desirable, although training will be given.
2 years similar experience in an engineering manufacturing facility making a similar product.
Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
The ability to use inspection equipment associated with this role is essential.
Good computer skills are desirable, as is a knowledge of the computer systems used (SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook etc).
