THE WORK
Foreign Assignment: This position will offer a long term deployment to a foreign country. Training System CI (Flight Instructor Stf) for the F-35B/C supporting the USMC and USN at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.
Candidate will instruct flight procedures in the Pilot Training Devices executing to the approved pilot training syllabus. Instructor will provide instruction using the Full Mission Simulators (FMS). The instructor will operate Instructor Operating Stations (IOS) and will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all pilot training. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin training teams on site to fulfill F-35 training objectives. The candidate will implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs and policies, as directed.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) access.
Deployment is contingent upon successful completion of the OJT required at Lockheed Martin’s training locations prior to international assignment.
The selected applicant selected may be required to work rotating shifts, and work in excess of 40 hours per week.
Relocation: Relocation and housing assistance is available.
Accompanied Status Available: Accompanied status means new hires may have qualifying dependents accompany them on their long-term overseas assignment. Employee and accompanied family members will fall under Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) as part of their employment at MCAS Iwakuni.
The OCONUS Locale: Iwakuni is a city on the Japanese Island of Honshū in the eastern part of Yamaguchi Prefecture, bordering the Seto Inland Sea. Iwakuni is a great place to live and offers much entertainment and culture for its residents and visitors alike. The nearest major city to Iwakuni is Hiroshima, approximately 45 minutes by rail or car. US expats living in Japan have lots of great things to say about their experience living in this exotic country with its vibrant people and dynamic culture. Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must have a current final secret security clearance with investigation within 5 years.
Candidate must be able to maintain Special Program Access Clearance (PAR).
Strong systems engineering background.
Willingness to travel to support mission requirements.
Candidate must have prior experience in Military Pilot/Aircrew Academic and/or Simulator Training.
Candidate must have operational experience with advanced sensor systems such as NVS, LANTIRN, Helmet Mounted Cuing, and the latest weapons inventory.
Candidate must be familiar with current instructional techniques and delivery methods.
Must have in-depth knowledge of military publications and an understanding of fourth and/or fifth generation aircraft systems.
Candidate must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature.
Use of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is required.
Candidate must have outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership traits, strong oral & written communication abilities, solid ability to organize, and a high desire to provide customer satisfaction.
Candidate must be willing to support flexible work hours to align with customer operational schedule.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
