Job Description:

Primary responsibility is the maintenance and repair of the golf cart fleet. The position also assists in building maintenance, fabrication, or any other area as determined by the supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Golf Cart Technician:

  • Diagnosing and repairing golf carts (gas & electric).  Mechanical/assembly skills for teardown and reassembly of golf carts.
  • Completely refurbish carts to keep the fleet operational and looking good.
  • Battery maintenance

Facility Maintenance:

  • General maintenance and repairs of all facilities as directed by the Building Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assists with janitorial duties as directed.
  • Assists with grounds maintenance as directed.

Fabrication:

  • Forms and shapes metal parts to desired specifications using a variety of methods, including various machinery and hand tools.
  • Confirms that fabricated part meets required tolerances in accordance with blueprints and specifications.
  • Uses proper measuring instruments to determine product dimensions.
Job Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Must maintain a valid GA driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Experience with gas-powered small engines and electrical motors.
  • Preferred experience with diagnosing and repairing golf carts (gas & electric).
  • Knowledge of proper battery maintenance and replacement.
  • Ability to have comprehensive knowledge of multiple positions.
  • Must have handyman skills including basic carpentry skills.
  • Ability to apply basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations with management and co-workers; listen to others without interrupting and get clarification when needed.
  • Must be able to accurately read detail part and assembly blueprints.
  • Ability to safely and properly use gauges, calipers, and other tools and equipment.
  • Ability to identify proper tools, materials, and supplies according to specifications/tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding to supervisor’s direction; and taking responsibility for own actions.
  • Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Constant exposure to hazards including confined spaces, chemicals, climbing, and working in positions above and under equipment.
  • Walk in wet or slippery conditions as needed.
  • Handle moderate to extreme weather.
  • Sit regularly, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear well.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Climb stairs/ladders, bend at the waist, twist, stoop, stand, walk, grasp, pull, push, and have the full use of fingers on both hands to enable safe material handling.
  • Hear and understand verbal instructions in a shop environment, as well as effectively communicate (verbal and written).
