Academy College’s Ground Instructors are responsible for providing quality instruction to our students. We offer ground school for Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial, and CFI/CFII. Our ground instructors must be customer service oriented and knowledgeable in all applicable Federal Air Regulations, including Part 141. Ground School is an eleven-week class, two evenings a week.
Adjunct Faculty are responsible for planning, developing, and administering classroom materials that align with the course objectives of their assigned syllabus. The Adjunct Faculty will build effective relationships with students, fellow staff, and faculty members. This individual assists with tutoring as needed to ensure the students have grasped the knowledge of their course. Adjunct Faculty are also encouraged to attend commencement ceremonies.
- Teach according to the approved syllabus to ensure that the objectives of the course are met.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in a setting
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with staff, students, and faculty at Academy College.
- Use a variety of teaching skills, including experiential learning to accommodate diverse populations and learning styles in the classroom.
- Evaluate student competence based on program philosophy and objectives.
- Participate in faculty meetings, orientations, graduations, and other functions as needed, including in-service.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at a minimum, a current Flight Instructor Certificate and a Bachelors Degree.
Successful candidates must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, be organized, and be willing to work on weeknights.
