In this role your will:
- Understand business goals and needs and connect teams to the right individuals, business strategies, HR strategies, practices and solutions.
- Partner with the Senior Leaders to implement and deliver approaches to improve organizational, operational and people strategies.
- Customize HR, talent management and operational solutions to address specific business imperatives to positively impact operational performance in the region.
- Maintain expert knowledge and provide interpretations of collective agreements, corporate policies and practices.
- Research, provide coaching and lead investigations and resolutions of employee relations matters to promote the establishment and maintenance of excellent labour-management relations.
- Provide coaching and advice to support leadership teams with their decisions based on processes and programs concerning compensation and employee benefit status changes. Draw upon the Centre of Excellence (CoE) and other HR functions to deliver required expertise, resources and services to drive customer / organizational imperatives.
- Ensure the talent strategy is aligned with the corporate goals and business unit’s needs; Provide advice and support to the leadership team on talent and in conjunction with Talent Acquisition in order to develop workforce and talent plans.
- Act as the bridge between the management team and the COE policy centre by providing feedback on impact of policy direction. Coordinate the resolution of cases within a realm of known solutions; escalates exceptions to the subject matter experts within HR and the CoE.
- Provide direct management of the HR Business Advisors for the National Capital Region.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or CHRP designation with 6-8 years of HR experience preferred, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
- Proven HRBP experience working at senior levels across business entities.
- Management/leadership experience.
- Project management and consulting experience.
- Demonstrable experience with best practices in HR management.
- Advanced knowledge of Canadian labour laws/standards.
- Advanced knowledge of working in a unionized work environment.
