Position Summary:

The Human Resources Intern assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The HR intern supports with responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, executive administration, and employment law. The intern is required to be a US Person and should be able to commit at least 30 hours per week.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support recruiting and staffing logistics including updating applicant tracking system and job postings
  • Support with employee life cycle including pre-employment processes, onboarding, and termination
  • Support with orientation, development, and training logistics and recordkeeping
  • Prepare documents, spreadsheets and/or presentations
  • Track deadlines and priorities of all projects with status updates
  • Assist with client and employee requests and questions
  • Assist with employee relations
  • Assist with company-wide committee facilitation and participation
  • Assist with compensation and benefits administration and recordkeeping
  • Support employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting
  • Maintain employee files and the HR filing system
  • Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office
  • Develop and maintain HR Compliance Knowledge including laws and regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills required to interface with applicants, employees, and management personnel.
  • Candidates must have intermediate skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be a detail oriented/organized individual with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Experience & Education

  • Working towards Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resource Management required
  • Introductory understanding of legal compliance (EEO, FMLA/Worker’s Compensation Laws) preferred

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $18 to $23 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 0 hours paid time off every year.
