This position is full-time exempt (salaried) working for the National Training Center Training Support Contract (NTCTSC) at the National Training Center (NTC). NTCTSC operations support the NTC mission to provide realistic joint and combined arms training focused on developing soldiers, leaders, and units of the United States military for success on the 21st Century Battlefield.
The IT Specialist will develop and maintain scalable and highly available network services in a contingency environment, within and under buildings, buried and aerial, within a compressed timeline and budget. Position will primarily support onsite personnel at Fort Irwin while providing remote desktop support to regional sites. Some travel (less than 25) may be required to support regional sites in person, as required.
REQUIRED HOURS:
Standard work week will be five (5) days per week for up to eight (8)
hours per day while at CONUS work site(s) and a flexible schedule
should OCONUS travel be required. Work may include nights,
holidays, and weekends on short notice.

BASIC DUTIES:
*Develop and maintain information systems for users at multiple on campus locations, maintaining a high level of availability.
*Maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), storage area networks (SAN), and virtual private networks (VPNs)
*Producing and amending company diagrams and drawings.
*Maintain current knowledge of all pertinent existing guidelines and regulations provided by the Department of Defense and United States Army relating to information systems as provided by Information Management Office (IMO) training while on site at all CONUS locations.
*Subject Matter Expert (SME) for information technology as needed by the organization.
*Develop and maintain expert level knowledge of Microsoft operating systems to include Windows 10 Enterprise, Server 2012-2019, Microsoft Active Directory products.
*Install and maintain services and devices for business use which do not interfere with current bandwidth or ability to conduct business.
*Research and develop a working knowledge of current and future recourses necessary for the enhancement/improvement of current systems, networks, and procedure.
*Work as a key member of special projects team when needed. This can include installation of connectors on cables, running cables, IP set up and configuration travel off site to complete projects as directed by NTC management.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
*Must have 4 years of IT related work experience
*Having a fundamental knowledge of computer hardware and software and network operations.
*Familiar with audio and video systems to maintain conference and briefing room sound and visual systems.
*Subject Matter Expert on Microsoft Office products, Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection, and the Microsoft imaging process to support installation users with help and assistance.
*Understanding of Web development, systems administration and oracle administration is a plus.
*Ability to take a system approach to a customers problem.
*Possess writing, speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
*Be detail-oriented with the ability to work under deadlines.
*Able to work closely with other team members and clients.
*Must be able to obtain and/or maintain a US SECRET clearance.
