Key Responsibilities
As a Technical Operations intern, you’ll work side-by-side with our TO professionals, taking on problems and learning about our industry. Internships are paid and course credit hours may be considered depending on your university’s guidelines. Technical Operations interns will be placed throughout our system, depending on project / field. Potential placements include but are not limited to: Data Analytics, Digital Fleet Management, Line Maintenance, Strategic and Base Planning, Airframe Maintenance Strategy, Predictive Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain and more.
Line Maintenance Planning Operations
The Line Maintenance Planning Operational teams’ strategic mission Is “To provide United Operations with safe & compliant aircraft without disruption to the flight schedule”. The Line Maintenance Planning Operational team are responsible for the planning & management of all Routine & Non-Routine Maintenance packages at our United Airlines maintenance locations.
The candid will have the opportunity to interact with our entire Network Operations Center team in many facets and provide meaningful support and feedback.
Responsibilities could include the following (dependent on placement):
· Provide Line Maintenance Planning operational support to United’s live flying operation.
· Support, uphold & seek to enhance Line Maintenance Planning Operations key performance indicators, metric goals and understand how they relate to the duties and responsibilities of the Line Maintenance Planning organization.
· Data extraction, normalization and analysis, data-based modeling/forecasting.
· Lead efforts in supporting line deliverable bespoke technical projects from concept to completion in a live operational environment.
Support departmental and corporate sustainability programs and initiatives
· Process optimization and mapping out existing gaps and possible mitigations in standard operating procedures between key stakeholders in both the Network Operations Center and Line Maintenance Stations supporting aircraft line maintenance activities.

Qualifications- Must be pursuing a degree with a focus on Aviation Engineering, Aviation Technical Management or Aviation Technical Support.
- Strong data analytics and process improvement skills
- Must have a minimum of 12 semester hours in core degree course work
- Individual should be a rising junior (at minimum) when internship begins
- Must be available for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2025
- Work related travel may be required, individuals must be able to travel without any restrictions, including internationally
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship now or at any point in the future
