A Janitor will work under moderate supervision, cleans and cares for production areas, office areas, washrooms, corridors, and other plant areas and assists in moving or placement of equipment and seating in such areas.
**1st Shift – 7:30am – 4:00pm – Portsmouth, RI. This position is an onsite role.**
What you will do:
Working to verbal and written instructions
Using a variety of Raytheon approved cleaning materials, solutions, and equipment, performs cleaning operations consisting of vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, dry and wet mopping and stripping floors to remove dirt, old wax, grease, and oil.
Selects appropriate cleaning solutions.
Waxes, treats, buffs and polishes floors.
Washes surfaces including but not limited to, glass partitions, painted surfaces, windows, blinds, walls, handrails, elevators, water fountains, lights, and related reflectors.
Maintains sanitary condition of rest rooms and washrooms, replenishing necessary supplies as required.
Provides waste containers to production and engineering areas, cleaning up and removing waste material at specified intervals.
Empties and sorts contents of waste baskets and moves waste to collection area.
Assists as required in arranging and placement of equipment for office, conference, or auditorium areas.
Use of ladders as necessary to perform general cleaning within restrooms only.
Performs General Maintenance and housekeeping of workplace, tools, and equipment.
Maintains records, moves materials, and follows safety rules in performance of duties.
Performs other similar duties as required or directed.
Machines, Tools, and Equipment used, includes but not limited to: Waxes, solvents, soaps, cleaning solutions, polishes, brooms, mops, buckets, applicable PPE, filter masks, rubber gloves, brushes, applicators, buffing machines, vacuum cleaner, ride-on/walk behind equipment, small hand tools and ladders.
Qualifications You Must Have:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year experience.
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
