Job Summary:
Sentinel is the primary air defense radar for the US Army and the Life Cycle Contractor Support (LCCS) Joint Urgent Operational Need (JUON) contract provides support for the Sentinel radar. Raytheon is currently seeking Radar Maintainers to support two (2) Sentinel Radar based out of Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti. This position is part of a 6-person Raytheon team consisting of Site Lead and Maintainers that will support the Sentinel operational and maintenance mission with the US Army.
This is an unaccompanied assignment. This position is contingent on the candidate’s ability to meet all deployment needs at all times to include passing a physical if required for the AFRICOM region as well as deployment through US Army CONUS Replacement Center (CRC).
Fullerton, CA WILL NOT be the permanent home location, only the initial on-boarding will take place in Fullerton. The Sentinel Maintainer team is based out of a single primary location in AFRICOM.
What You Will Do:
An LCCS JUON Sentinel Maintainer will:
Perform regular Sentinel maintenance and Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) per Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM).
Perform first and second level diagnostics, fault isolation, alignment, calibration and repair verification of the Sentinel radar.
Share the responsibility for Sentinel Radar System operation with the US Army as requested by US Army operations.
Share the responsibility with the US Army for Sentinel emplacement / march order, if required.
Share the responsibility with the US Army and contractors to coordinate for 400Hz generator / FMTV vehicle operation and maintenance.
Keep inventory and maintenance records on RTX spares and test equipment provided by program to support 24/7 Sentinel operations.
The successful candidate will provide day-to-day execution of the radar maintenance mission as well as demonstrate the ability to perform first level diagnostic, fault isolation, cleanup and maintenance of all associated equipment.
Qualifications You Must Have:
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or a Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience. May substitute experience for education.
Active Secret Clearance.
A minimum of 3 years experience in the operation and maintenance of Radar Systems, S band and/or X band artillery search and acquisition radar systems (e.g. Firefinder and Sentinel).
Willing to complete a minimum twelve (12) month assignment from the date of arrival at AFRICOM location.
Able to apply system knowledge and field experience related to the theory of operation and maintenance to resolve Sentinel operational problems.
Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.
Able to work outdoors in extreme climate conditions with temperatures in excess of 120 degrees.
Able to work 12 hour days.
Able to meet required overseas medical requirements to deploy via CRC to AFRICOM to include required vaccines and hearing / vision tests.
Qualifications We Prefer:
CompTIA Security+ certification is a plus.
MOS 94M Radar Repairer or equivalent.
Knowledge of Military protocol to include Operational and Tactical Procedures Associated with Air Defense Systems.
US Military technical training and certification as a radar maintainer.
Past experience of deployment through CRC and working on a military installation is a plus.
Experience in Air Defense Tactical Operations at the Battery or higher level.
Experience with Operational and Tactical Procedures Associated with Air Defense Systems are a plus.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with a team to providing systems maintenance and equipment record keeping.
Typically requires:

The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
