Linux Systems Administrator (Onsite)

Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services BGS, is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator in Omaha, NE.  In this position, you will report directly to the Information Assurance Manager and is an exciting opportunity to use your experience providing advanced computing solutions. You will use a wide array of Linux and Windows systems in a tightly integrated environment with a focus on security and high-performance computing.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for the design, validation and configuration management of Information Systems
  • Patch and anti-virus definition management
  • Secure and maintain all components in accordance with established Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and customer directives.
  • Perform system integration, hardware, and software installations, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture.
  • Provide problem resolution and technical support for delivered systems
  • Administer user’s system access and work to protect information to meet security requirements
  • System monitoring, user management, backups, updates, and manage break/fix scenarios.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Hands-on experience in Linux Server and workstation environments
  • Working knowledge in Windows operating systems
  • Understanding of computer network concepts (network hardware, cable management, IP address management)
  • Experience in the design, implementation, and sustainment of Virtualized Machine (VM) architecture
  • Experience with system configuration and apply security controls under Risk Management Framework
  • DoD 8570 compliant IA certification for IAT II
  • Must be eligible for Special Access Programs
  • Excellent customer service skills and clear communications both written and oral  

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with container management to include Kubernetes, Podman, and Docker
  • Understanding of Special Access Program (SAP) Information Systems (IS) requirements
  • Experience with IS implementation as defined in the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG)
  • Understanding of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) standards as defined in ICD-705
  • Documented Computing Environment (CE) training
  • Windows or Linux Certification
  • Shell scripting
  • In-depth Hardware Experience
  • Understanding of DevOps best practices and system development lifecycle automation

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience, 9 years related work experience, etc.).
