Machine Operator (Full Time)
Department: All Openings, Manufacturing - Experienced
Machine Operator compensation range (based on experience level) $19- $26/hr
Machine Operator I($19/hr-$20/hr)
- Manufacture aircraft parts using manual machines such as brake presses, shears, deburr machines, bead and flare machines, band saws, hand routers, shrinkers, wash machines, etc.
- Perform daily or other routine scheduled periodic maintenance as required. Report any out of tolerance conditions to leadership and facilities staff.
- Assist with equipment repairs when required
- Inspect and buying off own work orders using Piper inspection certifications
- Complete first part inspections, and other periodic inspections as required prior to fabricating the remainder of the lot or batch. Report any defects in forming to leadership for correction.
- Maintain compliance with all Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements
- Partner with senior teammates within career path to receive and share practical knowledge for proper training to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
- Adhere and maintain all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
- Perform duties as assigned by supervision.
Machine Operator II($20.50/hr-$22/hr)
- Manufacture aircraft parts using manual and CNC operated machines such as CNC brake presses, Punch Presses, Laser Turrets, drill presses, CNC tube benders, etc
- Inspect and buying off own and completing first part inspection for Team Mate’s work using Piper inspection certifications
- Assist the department maintaining compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements.
- Ability to and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
- Adhere, maintain and assist teammates within career path to all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
- Perform duties of lower graded position within Career Path and other duties as assigned by supervision.
Senior Machine Operator ($23/hr-$26/hr)
- Maintaining the department’s compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements.
- Fabricate aircraft parts using manual machines such as rollers, stretch presses, hydraulic presses, etc.
- Manufacture aircraft parts using manual machines such as lathes, mills, drill presses, deburr machine, bead and flare machine, band saws, wash, I.D. and rollers
- Inspect and buying off own and completing first part inspection for Team Mate’s work using Piper inspection certifications.
- Serves as lead with the ability to guide and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, cross-train and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
- Adhere, maintain, assist and train teammates within career path to all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
- Perform audits of areas within the department as required to maintain compliance with all FAA and Piper operational requirements. Initiate related operational process or procedural corrective action, or request additional assistance from leadership or other support teams where necessary.
- Perform duties of lower graded position within Career Path and other duties as assigned by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Successful completion Machine Operation program or 2 years’ experience preferred
Related machine operation Requirements:
o Machine Operator I: ≤ 2 years of experience
o Machine Operator II: 2 – 5 years of experience
o Senior Machine Operator: ≥ 5 years of experience
Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Use of hand and power tools as required
Follow all safety procedures
Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
Adhere to Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions
