Job Summary:
The Machine Parts Inspector II is responsible for conducting detailed inspections on a variety of precision and complex machined parts, including highly complex components, castings, forgings, fabricated sheet metal parts, and hardware. This role ensures compliance with AS9100 standards and supports the timely delivery of precision parts to customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform mechanical inspections, including first article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Verify materials, processes, and certifications from sub-tier vendors.
- Complete all applicable paperwork in accordance with AS9100 standards.
- Utilize manual and programmable Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) for precision measurements.
- Program and operate programmable CMM equipment, including part setup instruction files.
- Document inspection results by completing forms, logs, and reports.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area and ensure proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent damage or loss.
- Perform various other quality tasks as required to support on-time delivery of machined parts.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical inspection or machining.
- Proficiency in the operation and management of CMM and associated software.
- Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5.
- Proficiency in advanced job shop mathematical calculations and basic measurement tools.
- Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
- Ability to perform bending, reaching, and lifting within Client EHSS guidelines.
- Basic computer skills.
