In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating spanets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.
The purpose of this role is manufacture of machined components by setting and operating CNC lathes and various 3 & 5 axis vertical machining centres. Maintain quality through routine in process checks and adherence to all HSE requirements as per defined standards.
Key Responsibilities will include:
•tDownload programs from the file server
•tSetup CNC tooling assemblies and maintain tool management system
•tSetup and run CNC machining centres
•tProve out new NPI programs
•tUse Verniers, thread gauges, plug gauges and other inspection equipment to monitor tolerance requirements as defined in the engineering data.
•tPerform daily / weekly maintenance tasks in accordance with machine centre maintenance plan
•tMaintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
•tParticipate in continuous improvement activities
•tComplete all necessary paper work as required.
•tRoutine machine side OEE data entry
•tWork with production manager & programming team to seek opportunities to improve processes and reduce cycle times
•tSupport team colleagues
•tMaintain good housekeeping in accordance with 5S processes and practices
•tTake responsibility for quality of own output
•tPerform other tasks as reasonably requested by your production manager.
Job Requirements:
Indentured apprentice or equivalent modern apprenticeship, experienced in setting and running 3 axis & 5 axis vertical machining centres and CNC lathes.
NVQ Level 2+3 mechanical engineering
B-Tec national diploma mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Ability to use a wide range of IMTE to facilitate inspection of completed components.
