Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 to join our team of qualified, highly talented and diverse individuals for our Grand Sky, North Dakota location.

The role will support the AS Remote Sites Facilities Team and the position is a standard work schedule of 4/10. The 4/10 schedule allows employees who work a ten-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every Friday off.  

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment.
  • Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.
  • Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities and machinery.
  • Substantial acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of the job with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
  • Uses hand and power tools. Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment. Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
  • General supervision and instructions given for routine work and detailed instructions given for new activities or special assignments.
  • Duties & tasks are varied but standardized.
  • Performs some more advanced functions.
  • Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex questions to higher levels.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • May Escort contractors, performs bid walks, interact with Program and/or Operations personnel to plan and schedule PM activities
  • Respirators, face mask, and other PPE will be required dependent upon job plans.

     

  

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years experience with HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems, or experience working in the facility maintenance career field as a Maintenance Technician.
  • Strong computer, math, analytical, and planning skills
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes, methods and problem-solving skills and working knowledge of tools, common appliances and/or devices.
  • Ability to operate equipment, snowplow, forklifts, boom lifts, and machinery.
  • Must be available to work any shift, any day for any operation including holidays and weekends
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
  • Required to safely lift up to 75 pounds, and climb ladders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Comfortable working on computers
  • CMMS experience, BMS, Maximo or similar data and building management systems
  • Hands-on Maintenance experience with HVAC and Mechanical Systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance

Salary Range: $42,000 - $70,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
