As a master thesis student within the ZEROe project, you will join a team of highly motivated and valuable people who are involved in aircraft concept exploration, technologies development, next generation industrial system and future hydrogen ecosystem preparation that will shape the development of our zero-emission aviation.
We are an innovative department creating services to ensure Fuel Cell Systems maturity upfront customer delivery.
Your location
You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.
Finkenwerder
Are you wondering how you can get from the university to Airbus? Your student traineeship is at the plant in Finkenwerder and you can take the ferry from Teufelsbrück to the Airbus ferry terminal and back to the university in the morning and from midday. Alternatively, you can take the ferry to Finkenwerder and then cycle to the main entrance in about 15 minutes.

Your tasks and responsibilitiesMandatory Literature Review
Based on your skills and focus
Develop risk model to assess safety of hydrogen infrastructure
Develop / evaluate tools for depicting the flow behaviour of hydrogen for sizing and evaluation of infrastructure
Ventilation and dilution of Hydrogen
Diffusion of hydrogen in flow fields: test &43; simulation
Hydrogen permeability (anode - cathode): test &43; simulation
Evaluate state of the art sensing techniques
Response time, flow rate dependency, environmental impact
Virtual sensor (voltage, pressure drop)
Automated sensor tracking
Desired skills and qualificationsEnrolled full-time Master student in one of the following subjects: mechanical, electrical or systems engineering
Thermodynamics Knowledge
Programming and simulation knowledge
Dymola / Modelica knowledge as advantage
High degree of initiative, credibility and integrity and trust
Negotiation level of English and German is required
