Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

- Reads production, heating, or rolling schedule to determine processing specifications.
- Observes processing of material; reads gauges, clocks, and automatic recorder; and records and compares information with schedules to ensure compliance with processing specifications; informs supervisor of deviations from processing instructions; and documents problems, procedures and production.
- Writes reports describing processing delays and deviations.
- Reviews production deviation reports, corrective actions and root causes of deviations to ensure feedback into the ERP system
- Coordinates cross functionally for maintenance and repair of machine units and tooling
- Coordinate with management to load dies for the next day’s production.
- Maintain current backlog of workload and escalates deviations from production schedule with proposed corrective actions
- Responsible for reporting of production and employee hours.
- Prepares daily and weekly production schedule to ensure company targets are achieved
- Completes furnace light up sheets.
- Identifies tooling or material shortages and follows up with management
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of all types of materials and thoroughly familiar with their characteristics with regard to forging.
- Ability to interprets shop travelers, drawings and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before managers or other Company employees.
- Ability to work assigned schedule with minimal absences
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Experience & Education
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
