The role: Operational Safety Executive
Do you put Safety and Security at the heart of all you do? Are you an effective communicator? Do you possess the ability to drive a safe and secure operation at Heathrow? If so, then we would like to hear from you.
We’re looking for an Operational Safety Executive to join the Heathrow Safety & Security Team, providing operational Safety & Security oversight, and support, to colleagues and Management teams. Based at London Heathrow, you will be a key member of the Safety & Security Team. Please note that this role is shift-based.

What you’ll do:
- Liaise with external and internal parties to deliver a safe operation
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including HAL, enabling effective knowledge sharing.
- Responsible for corrective action in relation to any issues in audits
- Health, Safety, Security and Environment hazard identification and risk assessment
- Initial incident investigation and evidence gathering and immediate response generation.
- Onsite observations, coaching of operations and customer staff.
- Assuring the immediate response to all reported serious/major injury and aircraft and equipment damage incidents ensuring it meets corporate investigation requirements
- Participate in emergency response management process
- Engage in the delivery of high quality project work related to the current Ground Safety campaigns.
- Lead and deliver safety, security and environmental projects as required
- There is an expectation that you will undertake adhoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks
- Safety engagement both above and below wing.
- Driving and developing the operational management communities understanding of and ability to utilise safety critical processes and SMS tools.
- Leading and participating in daily briefings and operationally critical calls

- A skilled and precise communicator with the confidence to make decisions against a challenging operational backdrop ensuring
safety and security policies are adhered to. - Resilient, with excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills to enable the successful delivery of safety and security performance across Heathrow.
