Position Summary
To provide the first line of contact for internal and external quality issues. This position will also monitor in-process quality at different stages of production for new and existing products.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming receiving inspection of raw materials (tubes, burns bars, side plates, etc.)
- Perform in-process and final product inspection to ensure product is built to customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Read drawings and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Identify, communicate and escalate quality issues to site and functional leadership.
- Calibrate all inspection tools in the shop and maintain calibration system as necessary.
- Attend and participate in various types of business meetings.
- Implement inspection sheet for new and existing processes.
- Complete and maintain various types of paperwork.
- Perform the required duties in accordance safety guidelines and lean principles.
- Clean equipment and work area.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Previous Quality (Manufacturing) experience preferred
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required
- Basic math skills required
- Basic understanding of gauging / measuring devices required
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprint required
- Must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
- Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to hear and speak. The employee must regularly stand, walk, sit and use hands to grasp, handle and feel. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision requirements include close vision, ability to focus, and depth perception. This position may be exposed to oils, dirt, fumes and moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
