• In this role the qualified individual will support Quality Engineering and Operations a help achieve operational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage and report out on SPC data from machining area as well as managing a sampling plan.
• Perform internal PVA, AS9100, and NADCAP audits, support third party audits.
• Manage and report data acquisition to facilitate first pass yields processes, weekly.
• Assist QE with RCCA initiatives.
• Assist QE with PRB / MRB activities.
• Document and submit First Article Inspection reports.
• Support development of procedures and follow up with manufacturing to ensure completion of training.
• Provide support as needed for calibration, pyrometry, and heat treat.
• Conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools.
• Support / develop gage plan activities. Conducts and analyze Gage R&R activities.
• Provide support in the management of the Corrective Action System and Customer Submittals
• Drive FMEA to improve the quality and reliability of the process.
• Become a DSQR and support customer source inspections as required.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Experience & Education
• High school diploma or GED; Two-year technical degree a definite plus.
• 1 to 3 years of quality technician experience in a manufacturing environment.
Required Skills:
• Experience with GD&T / Blueprints.
• Experience in 8D, 5 Why RCCA investigations.
• Must be able to multi-task effectively.
• Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office; e-mail; intranet; and internet.
• The ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic prints and dimensions.
• Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others.
• Attention to detail.
• Basic English language skills and the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.
Working conditions
• Constant exposure to indoor and outdoor manufacturing environment.
• Constant exposure to moderate noise. Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
• Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, and hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
Additional Requirements
• SPC analysis and mini tab experience preferred
• Six Sigma training and the ability to apply statistical methods to analysis of engineering problems is preferred.
• Previous experience with Supplier and Customer PPAPs, preferred
• FMEA
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and teamwork across functional boundaries
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to convey technical and conceptual material to individuals at all levels in customer organization as well as within Wyman Gordon
• Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as scheduled.
• Must have completed 90-day introductory period.
• Must have been in current position for a minimum of six (6) months.
• Must be in good standing – no written or final level corrective actions.
