Position Summary
The Quality Technician conducts dimensional measurements, visual inspections, and testing on incoming parts and assemblies and/or outgoing products to established documents and procedures to ensure all are within designated specification. Documents results and maintains records. Track and report non-conformities and disposition non-conforming parts and products according to procedures. Audit inspection and production activities and report on results. Work with team members to determine root cause of non-conformance and participate in problem solving activities as required. Conduct basic calibration activities to ensure equipment compliance.
Responsibilities
1. Assembles and tests a wide variety of valve assemblies
2. Identifies and follows up on incorporating improvement opportunities.
3. Performs and processes the more complex first article inspections on components, sub-assemblies and assemblies without aid
4. Creates and revises inspection methods and procedures and document procedural changes via completion of an Engineering Change Request
5. Generates and follows up on supplier issued corrective action requests as required
6. Pareto inspection data, audit data and other data as required. Distribute pareto, identify any actions required to be addressed and follow-up with appropriate personnel
7. Conduct cell / internal audits and providing feedback to the business team
8. Performs basic calibration duties of a Calibration Technician I
9. Performs calibration on various types of semi-complex electronic measuring and test equipment (M&TE)
10. Ensures assigned measurement and test equipment is calibrated on a timely basis
11. Maintains and updates the calibration database including status, location, history, schedule and records
12. Maintains and reviews calibration data and records and verifies completeness and accuracy
13. Maintains and follows calibration procedures and makes procedural corrections as necessary
14. Sets up and operates measurement and test equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks
15. Initiates and follows up in addressing Out of Tolerance reports
16. Schedules and coordinates activities with departmental personnel for calibrating equipment internally and with external calibration services
17. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience:
1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum: Three years of experience in quality inspection.
3. Desired: Three or more years of experience in quality inspection or calibration activities, using simple and advanced precision measuring equipment in a manufacturing environment; capable of performing quality audits and initiate corrective action / root cause analysis
4. Computer literate possessing working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Access and email required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Excellent communication skills; verbally and written.
2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, schematics and specifications.
3. Strong mechanical reasoning and/or electrical background.
4. Strong math skills.
5. Ability to analyze and interpret data
6. Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, research problems and develop solutions
7. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
8. Positive attitude towards continuous improvements.
9. Demonstration of good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships is required.
