Position Summary
Responsible for managing incoming deliveries by verifying and signing for shipments, unloading and storing received items, checking for accuracy against purchase orders, processing related paperwork, and ensuring the quality and quantity of goods are correct before delivering them to the designated department.
Responsibilities
- Physically unloading shipments from trucks or delivery vehicles
- Checking incoming deliveries against purchase orders to ensure accuracy of items, quantity, and condition
- Examining received items for damage, defects, or discrepancies
- Completing receiving paperwork, including signing delivery receipts and updating inventory records
- Properly storing received items in designated warehouse locations
- Identifying and reporting any issues with shipments, such as damaged goods, incorrect quantities, or missing items
- Updating inventory management systems with received items to ensure accurate stock levels
- Properly labeling received items with necessary information
- Processing returns of damaged or incorrect items to vendors
- All other duties as assigned by Supervisor or lead designee
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experienced or on the job training in receiving procedures
- Forklift certification preferred
