JOB TITLE: SECURITY GUARD

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Security Supervisor job exists:
1. To ensure the safety and security of employees, property and facilities.
2. To prevent theft, violence or infractions of rules.
3. To provide a visual presence to ensure that visitors have a safe and pleasant experience visiting the company.
4. To enforce security protocols as assigned by contracted airlines.
5. Willingness to go above and beyond to resolve issues.
6. To ensure the safety and security of aircraft, crew and passengers.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A. Specific Knowledge Required
B. Good knowledge of strategies to promote security operations for the protection of people, data and property.
C. Good knowledge and understanding of security protocols and procedures
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English.
2. Must be Computer literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel
3. Must have excellent communication and decision-making skills.
4. Must have/maintain a good driving record to operate airport vehicles.
5. Must be able to pass a five background and criminal record check.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES
1. Ability to communicate using a two-way radio.
2. Specialized skill on public safety and security.
3. Good human relations skills.
4. Ability to Follow Instructions
5. Have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Duties are performed primarily outdoors irrespective of weather or time of day.
2. Ability to work shifts including early mornings, late night, weekends and holidays.
3. Must always be attentive to their surroundings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Patrol premises and offices to prevent and detect sign of intrusions and ensure security of doors, windows and gates.
2. Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
3. Call police or fire department in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
4. Implementing security protocols and procedures to protect aircraft, baggage, and cargo during loading and unloading.
5. Responding to security incidents and emergencies, such as suspicious activities or potential threats.
6. Conducting regular patrols and inspections of company facilities to identify and address potential security risks
7. Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.
8. Record and write incident report and submit to Security Supervisor.
9. Controlling of access, checking identification or travel documents for all passengers, staff & airport users requiring access and physical searches to TSA standards of all persons and articles carried on board aircraft
10. Conducting physical searches of aircraft to required standards.
11. Screen and conduct searches of passengers prior to them boarding aircraft as required by airlines.
12. Call appropriate person in accordance with established procedures for work that requires prompt action.
13. To provide support to colleagues through effective teamwork.
14. To maintain a log of all incidents and provide written and verbal reports to the Security Manager and Security Supervisor.
15. Enforcing regulations and protocols set by aviation authorities to maintain a high level of security standards.
16. Inspecting aircraft for security risks before take-off and after landing.
